Model swap is a 2011 guide

Searches say “remastered model swap.” The guide that exists is for the 2011 files. It uses Gibbed Tools, ThomasJepp’s tools, and ASM Updater. I did not find a Remastered-specific mesh replacer. Status: 1 source.

What the thread tells you to do

Unpack the character packages, rename the incoming mesh to npc_x.ccmesh_pc, overwrite, pack again, and update the ASM container. The same post says some characters vanish, and the author guesses at a memory allocation limit. That is the whole method I can attribute. I am not expanding it into screenshots I do not have.

SRIV-to-SRTT ports are the examples in that thread. They are still 2011-game ports. Dropping those meshes into Remastered is not a step the post describes.

Remastered gap

Until a second tool names Remastered mesh slots, the honest answer to the remastered query is: use the 2011 game, or accept that this swap is unavailable. I will not relabel the 2011 guide as a Remastered one to match the search wording.

Package and dependency checklist

Start with a copy of the original character package and keep its filename beside the replacement filename. The mesh replacement and the ASM update are two linked operations: changing the mesh without updating the package references can leave the game looking for an asset that no longer matches. Use the tools linked by the author and keep one backup for each package changed. When a character disappears, restore that package before combining the swap with another character mod. The thread’s invisible-character discussion is an author-reported limitation of this procedure, rather than a general fix for Remastered.

FAQ

Does model swap work on Remastered?

The only procedure I found is for the 2011 packages. Remastered support is a gap.

Why do characters turn invisible?

The guide itself flags a likely memory limit on some swapped characters.
