Saints Row: The Third on Linux
Yes, with a split. The 2011 Steam app has a native Linux port dated 15 Apr 2016. Remastered has no native Linux build. Remastered on Linux means Proton. ProtonDB rates both apps Gold, with different report counts.

Native versus Proton
Steam’s 2011 app is the native build PCGamingWiki documents. Install that app if you want a Linux binary. Remastered’s Steam depot does not ship that binary. Running Remastered is a Proton choice, and I will not call it official Linux support.
ProtonDB’s snapshot in this research: the 2011 app has 118 reports, Remastered has 48, and both sit at Gold. The Deck page discusses the Remastered 48 in more detail. Report counts move. I date them to 31 Oct 2026.
Which one to install
Choose the 2011 native build if your goal is “no Proton.” Choose Remastered under Proton if your goal is the 2020 lighting and the bundled packs. Mods written for the 2011 file layout often do not apply to Remastered. The mods hub separates them.
FAQ
Is Remastered native on Linux?
No. Only the 2011 Steam release has the native port. Remastered is Proton.
Does ProtonDB say it runs?
Both apps were Gold in the 31 Oct 2026 snapshot. That is a user report, not a publisher certification.
