Sticky Camera

The 2011 post is short: the xtbl turns off automatic recentering for keyboard and mouse. That is the whole feature. It is not a photo-mode overhaul. If searchers say “snap,” they mean the camera yanking back behind the car after you look sideways.

Remastered players sometimes install a GTA-style camera mod instead. I am not folding that download into Sticky Camera. Different game, different file. The 2011 behavior is documented by the Sticky Camera author.

Restore and compare camera files

Back up vehicle_defaults.xtbl before placing the replacement beside the original executable. A second mod that changes the same file can replace these settings, even when its advertised feature is unrelated to the camera. Keep a short list of filenames each mod installs so a conflict can be resolved by restoring that file. The objective is camera recentering while driving with a keyboard and mouse; it does not change the vehicle’s steering, handling or upgrade statistics. For camera distance and height changes, use a project whose description explicitly names those settings and the edition you own.
