Saints Row: The Third Remastered

Remastered is Sperasoft’s 2020 rebuild for Deep Silver: new lighting, PBR, HDR, and redone vehicles, weapons, and materials. It is not a new story. Three story packs and 30-plus items are in; three older packs are out.

Release dates I will not merge

PlayStation, Xbox One, and the Epic store got Remastered on 22 May 2020. Steam and GOG followed on 22 May 2021. Sperasoft’s June 2021 note describes the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S expansion as a free upgrade with a 60fps mode and dynamic 4K. PlayStation’s own page matches the free upgrade, and it says a PS4 disc still has to sit in the drive.

Steam’s Remastered page, checked 31 Oct 2026, showed 70 percent positive from 2,240 reviews. PCGamingWiki lists a Metacritic 70 and OpenCritic 74. I print those three numbers separately. They are not the 2011 scores.

What is inside, including the gaps

The three story packs are Genkibowl VII, Gangstas in Space, and The Trouble With Clones. The item pile is the “30-plus” set stores describe. The exclusions I repeat on purpose are the Team Fortress 2 masks, Bloodsucker, and the Unlockable pack. Writing “all DLC” would be false.

PCGamingWiki also records a weak 120fps cap, some physics still at 60, and a fullscreen mode that can lock to 60Hz. I do not turn that into a promise of 60fps on PC. The 60fps line belongs to the console upgrade notes.

FAQ

Who developed Remastered?

Sperasoft developed it. Deep Silver published it. Volition made the 2011 game.

Is the PS5 version a separate purchase?

PlayStation describes a free upgrade from the PS4 digital version. Disc owners insert the PS4 disc. A digital-only PS5 cannot use that disc upgrade.

Which engine is it?

The research record still calls the base CTG, with new lighting, PBR, HDR, and global illumination layered on. I do not invent a new engine name.
