Is Remastered worth it in 2026?
Remastered is worth it on sale if you want the story packs and the console 60fps upgrade. It is a weaker critic score than the 2011 game. I am summarizing published scores and 31 Oct 2026 prices, not writing a new review.

The 2011 game’s Metacritic figures are PC 84, PlayStation 3 82, and Xbox 360 84. Remastered’s Metacritic is 70. OpenCritic lists 74. Steam, on 31 Oct 2026, showed 70 percent from 2,240 English-language Remastered reviews and 94 percent from 19,118 English-language reviews on the 2011 app. I will not blend a 2011 critic average with a 2020 port score.
A Chinese write-up of the IGN review gives Remastered 7/10. I cite that as one outlet’s number, not as a new measurement. There is no 2026 critic wave to hide behind.
Price context from the same day
PlayStation’s US page showed $4.49 against a $29.99 list. Steam’s Remastered list was $29.99 and the 2011 app was $9.99. GOG prices depend on its selected regional storefront. Nintendo’s Switch Full Package was $2.99 through 1 Nov 2026 against $19.99. The phone apps were $19.99. These are region snapshots. Your store can differ tomorrow.
My buying rule: if you want 60fps and the packs on a current console, Remastered at a sale price matches the product. If you want the 2011 mod scene, buy the original on PC. If you only have a Switch, you are buying the Full Package, so judge that product, not Remastered’s lighting.
